This Privacy Policy explains how SERA EduTech (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related school management services (the “App” / “Service”).
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who the App is for
SERA EduTech is a school operations app intended for adult users aged 18 years or older, such as school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, staff, accountants, transport staff, and librarians.
We do not offer student login in this mobile application. The App is not directed to children under 18. If you believe a minor has accessed the App, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
2. Information we collect
Depending on your school account and role, we may process:
2.1 Account and identity
School / institution code
Username, name, email address, mobile number
Role and permissions assigned by your school
Authentication credentials (passwords are stored securely in hashed form on our servers)
2.2 School operations data
Attendance, leave, timetable, homework, results, fees, and related school records you are authorized to view or manage
Announcements, notifications, feedback, gallery items, and transport/library information as enabled by your school
Profile photo or documents you upload where the feature is available
2.3 Device and technical data
Device type, OS version, app version
IP address and basic diagnostic / error logs needed to keep the Service secure and reliable
Session tokens stored securely on your device to keep you signed in
2.4 Location (only when you use related features)
If you use transport live-tracking features (for example as a driver sharing bus location), the App may collect approximate or precise location while that feature is active, with your permission
Location is used only to provide the requested tracking feature to authorized school users (such as transport staff or parents viewing assigned bus status)
3. How we use information
To authenticate users and provide school management features
To show role-based menus, dashboards, and records for your institution
To send in-app notifications related to school operations
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
To comply with legal obligations and school/administrative requirements
We do not sell your personal information.
4. How we share information
We may share information only as needed to operate the Service:
Your school / institution: data is processed for the school that issued your account (multi-tenant school SaaS)
Authorized school users: other staff/parents may see information according to school-configured permissions
Service providers: hosting, email/SMS/OTP, or infrastructure vendors acting on our instructions
Legal: when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
5. Data storage and security
Data is stored on secured servers used to operate SERA EduTech
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS where configured), access controls, and hashed passwords
Session tokens on the device are stored using secure device storage
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security
6. Data retention
We retain account and school records for as long as your school account remains active and as required for school administration, legal, or audit purposes. When an institution closes an account or requests deletion, we process the request according to our retention and school data policies.
7. Your choices and rights
You may update profile information available in the App
You may sign out to end the active session on your device
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by contacting your school administrator and/or us (see Contact)
You may revoke location permission in device settings; tracking features that need location will then stop working
8. Children’s privacy
The mobile App is designed for adults (18+). We do not knowingly allow children under 18 to create or use mobile App login accounts. Student-related records may be visible to authorized adults (for example parents or teachers) as part of school operations, but this App does not provide a student login.
9. Third-party services and links
The App may integrate services needed for school features (for example maps for transport tracking, or notification delivery). Those providers process data only as needed to provide their services. This Policy does not cover third-party websites or apps we do not control.
10. International / regional processing
Data is processed in connection with the servers and infrastructure used by SERA EduTech and your school. If you access the Service from another region, your information may be transferred to and processed where our servers or service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
